A 1907 work illustrated and "adapted to Morther Goose" by Frederick L. Cavally, Jr. This book is full of beautiful, colorful plates of teddy bears playing roles in classic Mother Goose stories. Cavally was an artist who created many wonderful postcard designs in the early 1900s, along with this great book which is, as "The Bookseller, Newsdealer and Stationer" said in July of 1907, is "sure of a welcome before you so much as open it."
Condition: Some chipping to cover art, some edgewearing at corners. Internally intact, yet with spotting and yellowing throughout. The first black page contains a note from "Grandma Wessel" to her grandson, John F., in blue ink. The whole book is bowed, with a curve making the cover very slightly concave.
