This is an original yet rebound copy of Francesco Bocchi's 1581 "Discorso Sopra la Musica," subtitled " non seconda l'arte di quella, ma seconda la ragione alla politique pertinente." All of the original pages are in remarkable condition. The pamphlet itself is a Renaissance piece which asserts that Italians should focus less on listening to music and more on paying attention to politics.
Condition: The pamphlet has been rebound within the last century. This binding is in good condition, with very minor chipping. On the spine is a strip of paper with the title, author, and date of original publication that also appears to be from a later period. This is slightly torn. The original pages are only very slightly yellowed, and there is a small hole on the last page. Some of the early pages have words underlined in pencil.
